It has been about one year since we folded from the internet. We were the former safaridestinations.be, a website dedicated to bring you Kenyan tourism destinations. Back then we had this wonderful dream of bringing you all the wonderful places to your desktop. We still have this dream and infact, it has grown bigger.
First, I take this opportunity to apologise to those who got used to safaridestinations and were disappointed when it disappeared form the radar just like that. It was not our intention to do that.
However, here we are once again, this time bigger and better than before. We went down as safaridestinations and now come back as golavish.com. A website more dedicated to bring you information on tourism in Kenya and East Africa, and we hope to be here for along time to come.
Some of the biggest challenges we faced back then were, difficulty in receiving feedback from our visitors. It was also very difficult to update the previous website (It was a static website. Updating it was one hell of a job). However, the biggest challenge was the fact that we knew, we couldnt use the name safaridestinations.be for long. Wanting a worldwide reach would require us to use .com name. However, our name was already taken by the time we wanted a .com, so after some thought, we decided to get a shorter, easily remember able name, like golavish.
What we did was to take safaridestinations.be and learn the lessons. Now, we want to let the past be in the past, and forge ahead, as they say, yalopita si ndwele, tugange yajayo (You cant change the past, lets change the future). In this spirit, all I can say is, we have grown, metamorphosed and developed into this, a community social website for tourism information in Kenya. We now have a fast growing number of articles and information on destinations as well as tourism issues.
Did you have problems raising discussions and opinions in safaridestinations? Well we now have forums and blogs for everyone to ask get answers to questions. You can also post your comments on just about any issue raised on this website that authors need nay want feedback. Did you want to give opinions and questions, now you can just go to interact link on the current web site.
Despite this growth, those of you who were ever at safaridestinations will notice that the navigation style just as easy as before, albeit with more sections to go to. We have a very comprehensive structure, partly because of passion and partly because we want everybody involved in this.
We want to welcome you to golavish.com once again. feel free to share your knowledge, learn and interact with other travelers here, after all, travel is all about he cherished memories of wonderful places told to those you care about.
